From the "When I was younger" finds of a now deceased leo---his family from the Elizabethtown, Kentucky, area--his collection, a pretty good sized group, ended up in my area, finally auctioned. This Bottle Neck, and you get the choice of Benton or Table Rock as to which you want to call it, measures slightly over 2&3/8" by 15/16". The center thickness goes slightly over 3/8", so it wouldn't be a stretch to say the blade was considerably longer as first made. One thought about 'typology', the basal edge shows grinding, and Table Rocks are known for that--both cultures are Mid Archaic in age (6500BP), but Bentons, they were not big users of basal grinding--sure liked to make Hafted Scrapers, but they seldom ground bases. There is some old glue to be removed on the reverse of this point--the man glued everything to old picture frames, his walls must have been fully covered in flint. Good point, real. shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O>s (or cash) welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
