Out of Posey County, Indiana, ex C. Keller collection, one VERY decent grade Greenbrier--Dalton Greenbrier, or Hardaway Dalton--the flare-out of the basal tangs (to my mind) are more like the Hardaway Daltons, but the case can be made for any of the three classifications--depends on who you talk to. The piece is made of a very high grade of Indiana Harrison County Hornstone, in the same condition when it was last sharpened some 7500--8000BP. The base is heavily ground, fluted on both faces, intact. The tip is expertly knapped, intact and patinated--NOTE how it sort of 'rolls' backward from the one face. Possibly that was from some buffing use, or it was that ancient knappers' way of getting a sharper tip. See the closeup photo, it's easy to spot the backwards roll. Length is 2&5/16" by 1&1/4"--never exceeds 5/16" thickness, numbers that tell you how balanced the piece was made. Every detail is lifetime guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $6.00. I welcome checks and M.O>s, but please note I do not use paypal--Roy A.
