The narrow knife--3&3/16" by 3/4" is a quadra-facial sharpened knife, an Early Archaic Culture I've long assumed is related to the Harpeth River points of western Kentucky--the Dover Chert piece found along the Ohio River somewhere in the Paducah, Kentucky, area--possibly on the Illinois side of the river, though...riverbank hunters, if they've got a boat, they hit sites on both sides of a river. Hopefully my camera will pick up the fine edgework seen on each of the four-sides sharpening that was used, it's Early Archiac excellent skill. Was there ever more of a stem, or is this a salvage (with edge grinding)--possibly, but it could also be this was all the more base the knife ever had. There is slight wear on the tip where the ancient hunter was working the tip as a scraper--it shows some use polish along hat flake-off seen in the photo. The Dover Flint (or Illinois Elco Flint, it's 'cousin') is deeply patinated, real in every detail. Shipping is $8.00 with checks or M.O>s the only two ways I take payments. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
