Found in Vigo County, Indiana, some decades back--right under 3&15/16" by 1&7/16", and 3/8" max thickness. If that small tip ding wasn't there the piece would be a full 4" or very slightly over 4". The material is one of the more patinated cherts I've ever seen--maybe there is a separate chert-type name, but I've yet to hear it--settle for chert, appreciate the extra heavy patina--the piece is real in every detail. Basal grinding is heavy (as it should be). There is some blade edge bevel, but because there were fewer sharpenings of the blade the bevel was just getting started--the shorter the Dove, the more bevel you expect. The photos should show that one barb is anciently nicked--the other is sort of 'rounded' from sharpening of the blade. Neat piece of chert. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O>s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal on my store--Roy A.
