Twenty plus years back a fellow collector approached my table at an Indiana artifact show, offered a frame of Pinetree artifacts he said had been collected at a famous Harrison County, Indiana, Pinetree site on the Ohio River. He had a written-out provenance tag on the case with enough mistakes that I almost said "No thanks." The twenty-six pieces were all real, but when he said they were from this particular site in Indiana, but the tag read "Harn County, Kentucky", "Do what?" was my reaction. These past twenty or more years they've been in either my collection or in the collection of a friend--we've passed them back-and-forth. The six finished-out Pinetrees are decent in their own way--not top end, just good, authentic points---the preforms range from 'sort of rough' to exceptional quality, you know high end Pinetrees would have been cornernotched from these pieces.
