A Spencer County, Indiana, Pinetree--I'm selling as a study point--test your eyes, your skill in using a 10x loop; one side of the tip, only a little over 1/8" was restored (one side flaked-away, I'm fairly certain) and the finder decided to restore that tiny area. Too, I'm not 100% sure one barb isn't restored--work so close to original it's only by rubbing the smooth barb that you notice something is "too smooth" about it--as compared to the feel of the 'rougher chert' on the opposite barb. I know the finder had Dennis Bushey restore pieces for his personal collection, so I'm making the assumption Dennis did this restoration, too When you have to WORK to find restoration you know at least two things--the artist was good, and you learn how to spot restoration on future purchases--plus how to 'back light' a piece since epoxy's sometimes show as a dark "mass" whereas the edges of aged flint are yellow-ish translucent...the other part of that is in how to use a loop to spot color or texture differences on restored flint. So everyone understands--I have no problem with restoration, but it should be stated up front when you buy a piece--can any seller make a mistake--sure. Auctions, though, that's where you make sure what you're getting before you bid (hopefully). Okay--enough of a soapbox--shipping is $5.00, checks or cash or M.O>s as I do NOT use paypal--Roy A.
