From Posey County, S.W. corner of my home state, a Clovis that used and used some more--Burlington Chert, lateral edge-ground, but a basal edge that took some ancient abuse, a lateral flake broke from the auriculate base so the basal edge grinding and the once-longer auricles are snapped and patinated. There isn't much fluting, but one face does show multiple thin longitudinal flakes removed (thinning more than fluting), and the 'main face' shows a natural 'dimple' in the chert which was incorporated into the design--hopefully the close up pic shows that in detail. One note is that the flaking is pure Clovis, the flaking patterns are Paleo, and repeating the info about the lateral grinding--that type work is Paleo diagnostic. Length is 2&3/4" by 15/16", 5/16" at the maximum thickness. Both the heavily worked tip and the side-edge shaft scraper indicate multiple uses besides a lance tip. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O.s only--Roy A.
