From a Union County, Illinois, collection--4&7/16" by 2&15/16", 1&3/8" thick. The stone is a granite, but with an iron content that shows up as red near the mid-point, up to the fine bit. That bit took a polish that is literally smooth as glass--hours and hours og peck and polish work followed by sandstone grinding, followed by buffing with leather. I'm supposing someone spent a lot of winter hours sitting in a hut working this bit to near perfection. The work is both real, and impressive. Good flint, good stone, it just has that 'feel' when you hold it. Nice piece. Shipping is $10 due to the weight, and checks or M.O.s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
