A Knox County, Kentucky, MacCorkle, either hornstone or (more likely) Hopkinsville Chert,1&15/16" by 1&1/2", doesn't quite reach 3/8" max thickness due to a slight 'stack' in the flint. The Early archaic maker did a decent job of using that stack as a medial ridge. So far as I can tell the blade was never sharpened, the flake scars flow into the body of the blade--had there been ancient blade sharpening they would have a very different look--a bit hard to explain, hopefully the pics will show how those edge flakes meet the blade center flakes. Best example of this would be bevel sharpening, the edges are independent of the blade center. There is some basal grinding, but not heavy--patina IS heavy, though, authentic in every detail. Shipping is $5.00, checks or M.O>s are welcomed--Roy A.
