I pay the shipping (Priority Mail) on this Wabash or Edwards County, Illinois, Early Archaic Full Groove Axe--one strong piece of granite, deeply patinated. My caliper reads 4&5/8" by almost 3&3/4", but proportional in thickness, only 1&3/4"--heavy, though. Haft this stone, swing it again and again, you'd have a good case of tennis elbow. The axe does have some use roughness on the bit, worn from many hours of use--not what would qualify as damage, just wear--photo should show it as clear as I can get my camera to focus. The now deceased finder had more axe & celt producing sites than any collector I've come across. The auctioneer knew the creek the man hunted, info that'll go to the next owner. I welcome checks or M.O>s, but please note I do not take paypal--Roy A.
