Start off with shipping--included with the price, no additional costs on this Wayne County, Indiana, Early Archaic point--HEAVY bevel, heavy basal edge grinding, so you know it's not a Kirk or Pinetree, first of those doesn't have the heavy basal grinding, the Pinetree doesn't use bevel sharpening. So, that leaves you at Dovetails and/ or Lost Lakes. If a Lost Lake classification you'd think the barbs would be longer, the base not quite as rounded. Admittedly, there were multiple sharpenings of the blade, so there could have been more length to the barbs as first made--somehow, though, they still look too 'stubby', too 'cast out' for a Lost Lake. Where does that leave you: Dovetail...but with some Lost Lake 'influences'. One thing I'm pretty certain of is that the flint is a form of Attica (Indiana Green), not quite to 2&1/16" by 1&3/16", with a max thickness slightly over 1/4"--GOOD symmetry. Look at the point under a 10x loop and the patina literally raises your level of appreciation for the piece; guaranteed authentic in every detail. I welcome checks & money orders, but do not take electronic payments (like paypal)-Roy A.
