Caliper sits on 3&7/8" by 1&1/2" with a center thickness halfway between 3/8" and 7/16". The notched base is well ground, the Dove base being the off-white cortex of the Indiana Hornstone preform. Note--there isn't a 'center-of-nodule' crystalization, the blue quartz crystals you see where a knapper worked across the nodule center, so this may have been a layer (lense) form of Hornstone out of Harrison County, Ind.--the Dove itself is part of a long-stored Spencer-Perry County, Indiana, collection. Note the upper blade has a shaft scraper indention, and there is slight Early Archaic timeperiod use of the tip as a buffer--you can feel some work polish on the main face. The piece is guaranteed real, period. Shipping is $8.00, with payment by check or money order--I do not use paypal-type payment services--Roy A.
