The one thing you almost always look for on one of these Deep Notch points is the basal grinding--here, it's almost nonexistent, so I'll call the piece a Kirk Cornernotch--you think it's a Lost Lake, well, OK...in a way there is some small degree of bevel sharpening, and that IS a Lost Lake tradition, so maybe you're more correct than I am. Sometimes (on classifying point types) you go with the characteristics you think are most relevant (grinding or bevel). Patina, that's no brainer-- the piece, a tan fossil-type chert, 1&7/8" by 1&1/2", barely 5/16" thick, is real. It comes from the Somerset, Kentucky, area.
