Ignoring the ding on the tip for a moment, what a base on this Webster County, Kentucky, area Jacks Reef--those basal tangs are usually snapped due to being so thin. Weathered hornstone, 1&13/16" by1". The piece may have been one of the early Jacks as it isn't as thin as the 'later period'--when these were actual arrowheads--and before the style fully changed to become the triangular Madison points of the subsequent Mississippian period. Thickness here is 5/16". The barbs, the shoulders, they're intact, as-made--or more rounded due to sharpening. The tip was anciently nicked, then used for polishing work, you can feel some use polish, enough so that the flint has a polish from whatever it was worked against. The basal edge has a very slight degree of edge grinding. Shipping comes with the listed price, checks or M.O>s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
