How do I know what the flint is? Easy answer, much of the flint found in the fields behind my old family farmhouse was Holland Flint (Spencer County, Indiana, creeks produce the flint). IF, at age ten, I knew how much flint was in those low, rolling fields my parents would never have gotten me out of the cornfield. These days, no till 'plowing', I'm luck to find a scrap of flint. Old story for most of us, eh? Okay, this Lost Lake was found near Vincennes, Indiana--Knox County, length is 2&15/16" by 1&5/16"--3/8" max thickness. The Early Archiac Lost Lake is beveled on both left blade faces, shows REALLY good basal edge grinding. The big knife has a lot of use-wear, no apologies, it's patinated with hardly a new chip to be found. Holland Flint, a cousin material of Ohio Flint Ridge Chalcedony, shares very similar color and fossil characteristics (per Tony De Regnaucourt). Authentic piece. Shipping is $6.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
