A Vigo County, Indiana, blade I've held onto, the color alone is so remarkable. Whether it was an Adena base, or a straight stemmed Late Archaic point, that one I'm unable to answer, but the thinness 5/16" max), I hold out that the piece is in the Archaic time frame, not Woodland. Length of the fossil chert blade is 2&13/16" by 1&1/8"--creek minerals changed the color, brought out iron in the chert. One note--it looks like the piece was longer before ancient salvage--it's like they forced a stem on what was a very long blade that had broken, returned the knife to service. Real, period. Shipping is $7.00, checks, cash, or money orders are the only ways I take payment--I do not use paypal-type payment services--Roy A.
