Crescent Quarry Flint--high grade Burlington, is how I'd classify the flint on this glossy Adena--likely heat treated based on the iron oxides that show--and that bright red 'dot' in the center of one face. It looks like there was a small fossil inclusion with iron particles that adhered to the fossil--once heat treated, the reds really show. Length is 2&3/8" by 1&5/16". While there is slight wear to the tip, the stem was deliberately indented on both sides, matching notch-ins to better haft the flint. The sides of the stem show good edge grinding. Simply real, period, comes from a St. Claire county, Illinois, collection. Shipping is $7.00, checks or M.O.s are welcomed, but this store does not use paypal--Roy A.
