Rather than start off with length, width and thickness, I want to talk about that flake that radiates up from the basal corner of this Vanderburgh County, Indiana, Hardin. When you can spot what's old patina contrasted against a minor modern-made chip, you have zero doubt a piece is authentic. Defending a piece isn't fun--showing what the patina actually looks like, no one has a doubt what you're saying is correct, that's makes selling something fun, not work. Okay--the piece is a "short base" Hardin, made of our Hoosier Harrison County hornstone, 2&5/16" by just over 7/8". The medial ridge is 5/16" thick--was this dart point ever much larger--I doubt it, it's just too symmetrical, the pressure flaking is too precise to have had many sharpen-and-use cycles. That said, I do think the blade was once more rounded, and the sharpening that was done moved the edges closer to the medial ridge. The basal edge shows some grinding, but not heavy. Nice piece of flint, imho. Shipping is $6.00, checks, cash, or M.O.s, but please note I do not use paypal--Roy A.
