Shipping cost is part of the listed price, nothing additional on this Edwards County, Illinois, Burlington/ Crescent Quarry flint Early Archaic cornernotched point. What I'd call a Kirk Cornernotch might (by some) be a Neuberger--possibly even a Pulaski. Take your pick of the classifications--they're all in the same 7500BP+ time range, and the distinctions, well, sometimes the same point looks to be pictured in each of the Overstreet classifications. Traits: cornernotching, light basal edge grinding, general lack of bevel sharpening--although there is some small degree of bevel here, not enough to change that classification to a Lost Lake--not with that split base, I'd think, but little distinctions, it's hard to slot this Early Archaic knife perfectly. Length is a much sharpened (reduced) 2" on a blade that started use as a 4" knife. Width is 1&7/16", and a thin blade at barely touching 1/4" on my caliper--THIN. Patina is excellent, history is also--Indian Hill Museum, Norman Reid collection. I welcome checks and money orders, however I do not use paypal--Roy A.
