This Pottery Bowl with 2 Centipedes was acquired from a California Estate and comes with no provenance. It appears to be from the Southwest United States but the particular culture is unknown. Although insect designs in Southwestern pottery are not unusual, the 2 centipedes on the inside of the bowl and the style in which they are drawn are very rare.

I do not have much experience with pottery from this area and if anyone can tell me more about it, I would appreciate it. Once I have gathered additional data on this unusual piece, I will be pricing it for sale. Thanks in advance for your help.
