A Monroe County, Kentucky, find, this hornstone Kirk Cornernotch is 1.75" by 1", only .25" max thickness. Reading from the information card provided by the estate the point was found long the Cumberland River.AS with most Kirks there is some basal edge dulling, but not the more extensive edge grinding of a Lost Lake--you can feel that it was dulled, but the Early Archaic Period knapper didn't waste much time smoothing that basal edge. One face is mostly clean, the reverse still shows river soil in the crevices--if a future owner wants to wash the mud, that's their choice--personally, when I'm first picking up a piece I like to see how it was found--that ground-in soil tells a story of provenance. Every detail is lifetime guaranteed authentic. If there is ANY damage, it seems limited to a tiny chip at the end of one barb and a use-made ding on one blade side--excellent condition. Shipping is $6.00. Please note I only take payment by check, cash, or M.O,, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
