My caliper barely stretches out long enough to measure this Coles County, Illinois Celt--the reading goes just past 6&1/8"--granite, old patina and what look like some modern-made stains. The reverse side has a small 'splotch' of white paint near the bit--that's partially come off with acetone, likely the modern stains are an old motor oil, so the cleaning fluid may lighten those as well (acetone doesn't harm natural patination, per Dwain Rogers conversation years ago). The height of the Celt is 2&3/8", the thickness (max) is 1&11/16". Work dulling and a couple of ancient edge dings show on the reverse--they're not plow-caused, they're from Woodland period usage--they keep the price moderate. Due to the size and the couple- pound- weight shipping is by Priority Mail, $10.00. I welcome checks or M.O.s--you can use cash if you choose, but I don't take paypal--Roy A.
