Out of Wabash or Edwards County, Illinois--finders' name and the creek system the collector hunted along will go to the buyer, keep the provenance together--100% guaranteed authentic in every detail. Length is 3&9/16" by 2", max thickness of 1&3/8". The Celt is a square end Hopewell type, granite, very symmetrical. The bit is intact, but shows extensive use dulling--or perhaps there never was a crisp edge. Usually, and it isn't always the case, when thee is extensive bit area polish I assume the piece had a more sharp bit...this Celt shows some polish to the bit area, but not enough to convince me the bit was ever sharp--more utilitarian (a working Celt, not a show piece). There are a few plow scrapes, part of the history--photos should show them. Checks or M.O.s welcomed. Sorry I do not use paypal. Shipping is $7.00--Roy A.
