A part of my collection since the beginning of the century, the piece bought from a small collection found near the Martin County, Indiana town of Shoals--a friend bought the collection, so there you have all the information I was able to gather. Provenance matters, even almost a quarter century after the piece left the hands of the finder. The flint is a much patinated Indiana Hornstone, the small ding to the basal lobe is(I feel) from farm damage--I don't see the same patina as the very weathered surface of the point--MacCorkle, Early Archaic Bifurcate, I'd label the piece--1&3/4" by 7/8", barely 1/4" max thickness. The stem edges show moderate grinding, but it's hard to say how much the base was ground (due to the farm-made chips). The piece is lifetime guaranteed authentic, period. Shipping is $5.00, checks, cash, or M.O.s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
