Always fascinating, these Uniface tools, and really only made by one culture (with a few exceptions)--Paleo hunters. These five are out of a Crawford County, Illinois, small collection. The longest is the Uniface knife that's 2&13/16" by 1&7/16"--check out the hand-polished uniface side--human hands held & used that 'hand sized' knife for so many hours the flint is glossy. The blade, some variety of Hornstone, has notches, pressure chipped cutting edges, what looks like some 10,000 BP fire damage to the tip--those small pop-outs, just any number of features. Two of the hornstone 'ridge back' uniface are similar in the way they're made, even is size-wise the one is half the size of the larger Uniface (2&1/2" and 1&11/16" respectively). Note the "C" shaped piece--first glance said "flint fragment", but a closer look showed tiny pressure chipping is what's the equivalent of a ":draw knife"--a scraping tool. I would guess the small "L" shaped tool is something similar, each one had a very specific purpose in a Paleo toolkit. Each is real, period. Shipping is $8.00 and payment can be by check, cash, or Money order. Please note my store does not use paypal--Roy A.
