Six Pike County, Indiana, area points from along the Patoka River, ALL made from the gravels found along the river, hard to knapp "cobble cherts" that represent how many banged knuckles. The longest dart is 1&5/8"--looks like a Harrodsburg Chert, and judging by the materials used these Greenbrier Culture Early Archaic peoples didn't travel far to get their raw cherts--the small red Early Archaic (1.25") may be the highest of the chert quality, and the lower end of the scale is the fossil chert Greenbrier point (ancient tip nick)--that one had to be a hard flint to shape--the five bases show that the group are from the same Early Archaic time setting--Greenbrier, 7,500+ years BP. REAL. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O.s welcomed, but please note I do not accept paypal--Roy A.
