Even with a small 'clip' off the very tip this is one sizable Turkey Tail--3&3/4" by 1&33/8", with 3/8" as the single thickest measurement. Made of a banded hornstone, a huge bullseye in the flint, the Late Archaic culture point is ex L.Irons collection, out of western Tennessee. The stem slides down into the cortex of the hornstone, shows where the ancient hunter flattened the stem to better haft the knife. Good piece, real in every detail.
