Very, very patinated Indiana Hornstone, more brown in color than dark grey. The collection has been in storage for, well, forever, so was this a long-ago field find, or was the young man, the finder, an early creek hunter--I'd have no way of knowing. I know that patina, though, it's lifetime (mine) guaranteed real. The (then) young man hunted in the Warrick Co.,Indiana, area--a friend bought the collection, the Kirk Culture Snap Base came to me. A caliper reads just barely below 3&7/8" on the longer bard end. One barb and the tip, you can see some ancient wear--put a 10x loop on the piece, you can see the color of the 'worn' areas is patinated, ancient. Those small spots keep the price (and the grade) down just a bit--but still reasonable for the very large size and excellent knapping--see the on-edge pic, the pressure flaking is fine work. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O>s are welcomed. Sorry, paypal is not available--Roy A.
