Found by Bill Droll, part of his estate, Elizabethtown, Kentucky, area is the best history I could get on the collection, where he grew up, his family --when a piece is obviously a HIGH grade of Sonora Flint, the town of Sonora, Kentucky, is right there--no brainer what-and-where. The Kirk measures 2&1/2" by 1&7/16", 3/8" max thickness, VERY glossy Sonora material, inclusions and hematite color. After the base snapped the Kirk hunter ground both the barb ends and the new auriculate base smooth--not perfectly smooth, but he got rid of any sharp edges before he re-hafted the knife. Note some extra small pressure chipping to make the tip sharper, watch-maker-fine chipping. One other note: Old Bill was bad about gluing points to picture frames, so if there is still a bit of glue on the body, you know how it came to be there. Shipping is $5.00, checks, cash, or M.O.s welcomed. Sorry I do not use paypal--Roy A.
