Coming from the Champaign, Illinois, area, the Dixon is made of what I'd identify as Avon Chert--a very good grade of Avon, in some ways it almost looks like a Hornstone--just more color variation than hornstone, and with the inclusions you'd expect from Avon. Length is 2&1/8" by 1&3/8", 5/16" or thinner, but with one small 'stack' on one face. The stem edges are slightly dulled, but whether that comes from grinding or use-wear is anyone's guess--stem was chipped to the bottom edge of a flake, and that left one small flat spot on the bottom of the stem--the Woodland knapper decided against trying to thin that small flat spot--wasn't worth breaking a finished point just to thin one tiny spot that was going to be covered by sinew, anyway. Authentic, period. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O>s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
