I don't know what kind of glue the finder used to "cement" this Early Archaic axe to a board--but it was strong--and they used way more than was necessary. The bit was anciently used and damaged--honestly it could be restored, Etchison, Bushey, either one of the "Restoration Artists", or displayed as-is...your choice if you buy the S.W. Indiana axhead. Length is 3&1/8" by 2&1/8" with center thickness of 1&1/4". The best I'll be able to do is call the stone a 'river rock' of a very tight-grained quartzite--use a 10x loop, you'll spot the grains of quartz (sand) that make up the matrix. Neat piece, guaranteed authentic--and a field find as the few plow scratches show. Shipping is $7.00, checks or M.O>s are welcomed, but I do not take paypal--Roy A.
