Made of Attica Chert (Indiana Green), the piece from the Carroll County, Indiana, area, 1&3/8" by 13/16", a medial ridge that's close to 5/16" thickness. The base of the Paleo is considerably thinned--not so much of a flute as just deliberate thinning of the hafting area. There is some of the original basal grinding remaining, but some use-made flake-offs took away part of the basal grinding. That more intact lateral edge, though, it's heavily ground--that opposite basal corner shows an ancient repair of a chip, and dulling of the outer edge. It looks like a use-made ding was made to more securely fasten the projectile to the short throwing--stabbing dart shaft. Is the Paleo (Clovis or later) dart perfect--no, but it's 100% real. That counts for a lot. Shipping is $6.00 with checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
