Price includes the cost of shipping on this big chert (Mill Creek Chert, I would type it) Adena Knife from the Alton, Illinois, area--to give Alton a 'plug', check out the Illinois Great River Road, the area being one of the most 'habitable' places for any people, ancient or modern1 The knife measures 3&7/8" by 1&5/16", the tip is a burin, the base is most like one of the Adena Vanishing Stem point/ knife types. As thick as it is, 7/16", the blade may have been longer as first made--Mill Creek being found in sheets, so it was easily made into much larger artifacts (Spades, specifically).
