Shipping included on this Gibson County, Indiana, Cobbs Knife out of the Early Archaic time frame--7500BP--extensive old sharpening of the blade, the piece narrowed from a wide knife to where the blade is only 1" wide. An interesting--worth noting--fact that the narrowed blade is quadra-facial sharpened. On Cobbs Knives, you expect a beveled cutting edge, one bevel on each face, but this 2&15/16" knife is sharpened more like a Kirk, the sharpening comes from all four edges--see the on-edge photo if that doesn't make sense. So, was this a Kirk artifact, not a Lost Lake/ Dovetail knife form? That would be my guess. The base is NOT damaged, the ancient knapper worked with what flint he had--it's not symmetrical, true, but it is patinated, 100% authentic. I welcome checks, cash, or M.O.s but never use paypal--Roy A.
