You pick the point up and the first feature that catches your notice is the heavily ground stem. It's a 'Wait a minute" realization that the piece isn't a Late Archiac Stemmed, it's MUCH earlier, in the timeperiod of the Stringtown points, the Eastern Stemmed, point types that were very yearly in the Early Archiac Period. The point is a creek find from the Union--Webster County, Kentucky, area. For all the fine workmanship of the stem, though, the blade is quadra-facial in the sharpening, a bit more 'average' in terms of the knapping quality. As the patina covers a greenish stained Hornstone, there is no break between stem patina and blade patina, this may be a 'field repair' of a Stringtown knife, a piece that was later lost in that creek. Length is 2&11/16" by 1&1/4", 5/16" max thickness. Every detail is lifetime guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O.s are welcomed. Sorry, my store does not use paypal--Roy A.
