The 'stage one size' must have been one huge Kirk Cornernotch--even with multiple sharpenings, tip being blunted as a scraper, the length is still a small bit over 4" on my caliper. Anything of Indiana Hornstone/ Harrison County flint/ Wyandotte Chert that's over 4" is on the outer reaches of what hornstone points were (as a general rule). This Kirk--and it is a Kirk as there is no hint of bevel sharpening, is 1&13/16" wide yet only 5/16" max thickness. The heavily worked blade edges, you know this was some Early Archaic hunters' favorite knife--long, long usage (and great patina), especially after the stem broke--that didn't stop the use as a hand held knife. The piece was part of a farmers' collection, Spencer County, Indiana, every detail is guaranteed real. Shipping is $6.00, checks or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
