A "chert", not a 'flint'...and other than calling it a "tan chert" I'm stumped for a lithic type name--there are enough fossil inclusions that the piece may be in the Harrodsburg Fossil Chert family (Bedford, Indiana, area quarries--a small town by the name of Harrodsburg). The Motley is decent size2&3/8" by 1&1/8", and a fairly substantial almost 7/16" thickness--if that thickness doesn't tell you this was (before ancient sharpening) a much , much larger blade, nothing will. There is one ancient chip on a basal corner, one small modern 'handling ding' on the very tip--keeps the price down, and also shows the heavy patination of the surface--it's real. Shipping is $5.00, checks, cash, or M.O>s welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
