Thin, very thin at 3/32", made from Indiana Hornstone, only a slight measure over 1" (with that nicked tip) by 15/16". The basal edge is fractured Base style, but it hard to say if the super-heavy basal edge grinding covered a twin edge-to-center 'fracturing flake'--or if all that edge grinding simply LOOKS like a fractured base--pictures should show what is sort of hard to put into words--hopefully. Note the mismatched wings--one is like a standard Decatur, the other is like a Fox Valley. Considering the point comes from the Monticello, Indiana, area, and Fox Valley points are also found in that area, there seems to be some Early Archaic Cultural cross-over in the knapping styles. Note, too, that the piece is exactly a it was found, dirt still on it--if you want to wash it, fine, but this way you see exactly how the piece was discovered--call it 'provenance' if you like. Shipping is $5.00, checks, cash, or M.O.s are welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal--Roy A.
