Out of either Perry or Spencer County, Indiana,, 99.9% chance it was an Ohio River beach find from one of the many Woodland occupation camps/ flint knapping stations along the river (flint source was not too many miles upstream, and many, many tools were knapped -out to lighten the flint gatherers' dugouts for the journey home. The piece was sold to a local doctor in my area, became part of his estate--length is 3&5/8" by nearly 1&1/8", only 5/16" max thickness. The breaking open of the hornstone nodule resulted in a dip-in that became part of the upper blade--it resulted in a slight twist to the length of the knife--pics should show it. With a natural shape like that the knife wasn't meant to become a point type, it was strictly to be a knife--maybe hand-held as that natural dip-in makes the piece fit your hand 'ergonomically'...if that makes sense.
