Found somewhere around near Alton, Illinois--that's about all the history to the piece--other than the last owner lived N.W. of St. Louis in his later years. The point is a 'classic' Cobden Flint Hopewell, large, 3&3/16" by 1&9/16", a center thickness of 7/16", so the blade may well have been even longer as first made. A Hopewell period use-made impact fracture to the tip took off about 1/8" of flint, the leading edge shows some repair and additional wear as a scraping edge. A big knife, not perfect, simply real in every detail. Shipping is $5.00, with checks, cash, or M.O.s welcomed, however I don't use paypal--Roy A.
