The last twenty or more years this Clovis Knife has been framed with some other large hornstone knives the finder collected in Muhlenburg County, Kentucky, area--he strayed into Christian County on occasion he told me, but didn't label the exact provenance of any of the blades. The shape, the super long outre pas flakes tell what the piece is, though: Clovis. Length is 5&13/16" by 2&3/4", and very close to 3/4" at the single thickest spot. Was this knife hand-held, or hafted, that I honestly can't say, but there are two very small (but matching) indentations on each blade edge about two inches up from the base (see photo).. Again, when you see such huge cross-wise flakes, the knapping technique is Paleo. Near the tip there is an area of pressure chipping on the non-humpback side, sharpened for fine cutting of the huge game Paleo hunters preferred. EVERY detail is guaranteed real, period. Shipping is $7.00 with checks or M.O.s welcomed. Sorry I do not use paypal--Roy A.
