Shipping comes with the price on this Union county, Illinois, area Celt--4&1/4" by1&15/16" by 1&1/2" wide. VERY good bit & behind-the-bit polish. There are no (not a one) plow scratches. Rare, seems like the only Celts I come-by that have no plow scars are river finds. Maybe this one was off the nearby Mississippi River, no idea as it's an estate piece, not tagged by the finder. An interesting note: in the center of the body is a slight 'ridge'--that ridge acted like the groove ring on an earlier culture Axe. A Celt slid into a hole in the wooden handle, so this 'hump' halted the forward slide of the piece. Having seen more Celts than countable, this is the first with that 'technological feature' I've noticed--it's deliberate, not an accidental feature of the piece of granite--call it a 'better mouse trap" idea some Woodland Culture maker thought up. Every detail is lifetime guaranteed authentic. I welcome checks or M.O.s, however I do not use paypal--Roy A.
