From a Vanderburgh Co., Indiana, collection, a 3&1/2" by 15/16", 3/8" thick Lerma Blade (knife)--Latter part of the Early Archiac into the Mid Archaic rimeperiod, so 6500--7,000 BP era. The blade is made of Hoosier Harrison County-type Hornstone, well made, but no basal or lateral edge grinding--you almost want that long 'stem' to be edge ground like an Agate Basin, but that wasn't the 'finish out' technique these early peoples used. The tip is NOT broken, it shows use polish (wear) from continued use as a buffing tool--well made, well patinated, 100% real in every detail. Shipping is $8.00 with checks or M.O.s how I welcome payments. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
