The flint is our Hoosier Spencer County, Indiana, creek-found Holland Chalcedony--the knife also found there in Spencer County. Length is 3&11/16" by 1&1/2", 7/16" thickness on the medial ridge. culturally, the curved knife is Early Archaic in time, 7500BP--pressure chipped, patinated, worn with long usage. As the 'crescent' shape is slightly unusual, I expect the piece started as a rounded-base Cobbs Knife, but the sharpening, done on one face for the most part, slowly rounded that main cutting edge--see the backlighted photo, you can spot the yellowish patina from the long use. Good piece of flint, I think, REAL in every detail. Shipping is $8.00 with checks or M.O.s the ways I welcome payments. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
