The color (of the Indiana Hornstone), the gloss, and the length (for a drill form)--they're decent. Tip-to-base, 3&1/8" by 1&3/16", close to 3/8" max thickness up near the tip, a slight 'stack' in the flint. The very tip is a tiny, polished from use flat spot, so this was obviously a well used drill--punch, perforator. Note on the base there are a couple tiny indentions, so very possibly this 7500BP Early Archaic Cobbs Knife was actually hafted--Cobbs usually being hand-held, but with the steeply beveled edges, being used as a drill, a handle would allow the user more speed when rotating the drill...my theory, anyway. The piece comes from an Evansville, Indiana, collection, finely patinated, guaranteed authentic in every detail. Shipping is $8.00. I welcome checks, cash, or M.O.s, but do not use paypal-type services--Roy A.
