A Sangamon County, Illinois, area find--a Cupps Point that catches the transitional period from Woodland to Mississippian eras. I keep coming back to a "Hornstone" classification, but not a true Cobden (Illinois Hornstone) variety--close, but the flint doesn't have the concentric 'lines' of Cobden--something similar, best I can define the flint. Length is 2&3/8" by close to 7/8", 5/16" max thickness. Being that later time period there is no basal grinding--well made, the only damage being a barb end and a basal corner that have tiny chips (see photo)--OLD damage from use. Every detail is guaranteed real. Shipping is $7.00, checks or M.O>s are always welcomed. Sorry, I do not use paypal-type payment services--Roy A.
