Length of this Kaolin Flint knife is right on 3&1/2" by 1&1/8", and slightly over 3/8" center thickness. The piece was in the Brewer collection , either Union or Jackson County, Illinois, being his collecting area. The point style is more like a Copena than anything--Union County very close to western Kentucky, so I'll have to think this long knife strayed-in from across the Ohio River--VERY nice patina, no info to say the piece was a creek find, but that's how it strikes me--patina is right, as well as the 'tone change' of the flint itself.
