From a Warrick County, Indiana, based collection, and a good fifteen years or more in my collection, a decent Muldrough Chert Pinetree, slightly under 2" by1", and not quite to 5/16" max thickness--I try to give the thickness so you can tell a point is 'balanced' (or not)--the thinner the point, a general rule is that the ancient knapper took the time to thin his preform, it made for a better balanced finished product--this Pinetree IS. The base was heavily ground, and a center 'cleft' made hafting the piece more secure. Was there considerable sharpening of the blade--definitely, the blade was serrated to give the same cutting edge it likely had when in an earlier stage (wider)--authentic, guaranteed so. Shipping is $7.00, checks, cash, or M.O.s are the ONLY ways I take payment--Roy A.
