The last owner wanted a trade for a point of mine, offered this Johnson County, Illinois Paleo in exchange--either Clovis or Late Paleo--my view is "Clovis dart"--that's how I classify the piece in my collection. The Paleo is made of Hornstone (Cobden), slightly under 1&7/16" by 7/8". With the length and the way basal thinning was used on the 'thicker' side, the thin fluting flake on the main face, I expect the Paleo was at likely twice the present length, but I think the salvage was done to the base, not the tip, the tip being very symmetrical. There is basal/ lateral edge grinding, not heavy, but it is present. Mineralization, patina is present, and every detail is guaranteed authentic. Shipping is $6.00 and checks or M.O>s are welcomed.
