Out of the Owensboro, Kentucky, area, made from Sonora Flint, this Lost Lake had an original length of some 3&3/4"--an Early Archaic-made tip fracture so the present length is2&1/8" by a wide 1&7/8"--caliper reads a flat 1/4" max thickness. This was a "stage one" Lost Lake, as there is no evidence of more than the smallest of resharpening of the blade (on the 'long side'--basically, broken before the knife got more than the smallest bit of use. Mentally fill in the notches, you can see the Cobbs Knife that was the bi-facial preform. The entire stem shows great edge grinding. Depending on the light you can really see the hematite in the Sonora flint, that 'weathered iron' color. Worth restoring, this is one heck of a Lost Lake for your collection. Shipping is $6.00, checks (or cash) & money orders are welcomed, but I do not use paypal--Roy A.
